Wikispaces is a place where you can create a wiki, or a simple to use collaborative website to use in your classroom and your school. If you are a K-12 educator and have registered your wiki with our free K-12 education Plus plan, you can create student accounts in bulk yourself. You can make up to 100 accounts at one time.

We have created a Wiki using Wikispaces for our students to use to comunicate and share thier ideas about the inventions they will be creating. I hadn’t done anythng like this before and found it relatively easy with the help of a “friend.” (Thanks Kelly. : ) My third graders were psyched to be introduced to the tool. Those that have frequent access to a computer at home use it for many things, like games. I’m looking forward to introducing them to some web 2.0 tools that they might not otherwise use.

I am very excited to see how my students se the WIKI. It was very easy to set up. Many of our kids have already shared this site with their parents and they seem very excited about it.

Definitely going to set up a wiki in my classroom once we have our netbooks online here at the high school. I think that the publishing should help some of my reluctant writers take ownership of their work. I also love the idea that they are given a forum to respond to each others’ work in a calm, measured way.
